Beaded Icicles

A very simple Christmas decoration using threading, so all ages from toddlers upwards can get involved and create something magical.

You’ll need:
Jeweller’s wire
Crystal or pearl beads of different sizes, from 12mm to 4mm
Embroidery thread

First make a small loop at one end of each wire, using a small pair of scissors to bend the wire around.
Thread the beads on to the other end of the wire, starting with the largest. I used 2 x 12mm, 2 x 10 mm, 3 x 8mm, 3 x 6mm, 3 x 4mm beads but the size and number are up to you. When you’ve finished, use the scissors to twist a loop in the other end of the wire to secure the beads.
Thread a piece of embroidery thread on to the end with the largest bead and make a loop. Hang on the tree or dangle lots of the icicles against a window and watch the winter sun make them sparkle.
